Lisa LaBelle is a clinical mental health counselor, educator, and mother.
Lisa specializes in individual, family, child, and couples therapy. She is a Level 1 trained Gottman Couples Therapist, has trained in suicide prevention and awareness, and DV. She is working towards her Sandplay Therapy and EMDR certification to be able to help her clients of all ages and backgrounds work through past or present traumas and challenging life experiences. She received her BS degree in Education and her Master’s of Science degree in Counseling. Lisa is a family and child advocate, and a published author. She loves to develop effective and impactful programs for adults and children. She is a certified teacher with over 25 years of teaching experience. She is a past exercise and fitness instructor.
Lisa is passionate about the work she does with her clients, and the positive impact her therapeutic approaches have on them as they work to heal their lives, which then positively impacts the relationships they have with others. Lisa believes that in order to heal relationships within the family system and between couples, each person must first be willing to address, work through, and heal their own lives. Lisa practices and specializes in CBT, DBT, EFT, PTSD, Holistic therapy, Sandplay therapy, and Gottman therapeutic approaches. She specializes in couples, marriage and family therapy, individual therapy, child therapy, parenting, co-parenting, and working with clients who have experienced grief and loss, trauma, depression, divorce, addictions, abuse, anxiety, ADD, ADHD, Autism, and traumatic, challenging life experiences.
Lisa is the mother of two grown sons who are the light of her life. She says that the greatest time of her life was during the years when she was raising her family. She loves being a mother, and loves working with children, individuals of all ages, couples, and families. Lisa is passionate about her work as a therapist as she helps her clients heal and move forward with a brighter, happier, healthier, and more hopeful future.
In her spare time, Lisa loves to travel, spend time with her family and friends, read and write, participate in outdoor activities; such as, hiking, mountain biking, swimming, horseback riding, playing tennis, walking and running. She enjoys doing photography, yoga, dancing, and participating in aqua and group fitness classes. Over the years, Lisa has participated in and completed many competitive races including, marathons (running 26.2 miles), triathlons, half-marathons, 10K’s, and team races, including Lotoja (biking from Logan, Utah to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, over 200 miles), and many other races. Lisa was also a competitive dancer. Her favorite types of dance include jazz and tap. As you can tell, she is passionate about being active, and living a healthy lifestyle.
Lisa was born and raised in Utah. As an adult, she has lived in Chicago, and the San Francisco Bay Area for over 25 years, and of course, Utah. She has a compassionate and genuine understanding of the human spirit, and the power and ability we all have to heal our lives.
