Can Faith Actually Ease the Loneliness of Singles?1 min read

Jonathan's note: This poem was written by one of my clients, a single Christian woman of great faith. With her permission, I share the poem in the hope that it will help any struggling single sisters out there.

The Only Man for Me

As I sit here, looking out to sea

I pray for a man to rescue me

One who is strong and kind

But he is hard to find.

I have searched from place to place.

Hoping that soon I will see his face.

Does God not hear my prayer?

I am afraid that He does not care.

I need someone to hold me tight.

To rescue my from my fright.

Someone to show me that I matter.

To raise my hopes with flatter.

Why does this person not show?

Why God? I know you know.

I rest my eyes to the sea once more.

Watching the waves touch the shore.

Waiting for that special touch.

That touch that would mean so much.

That is when the answer came to be

That Jesus Christ is the only man for me.

He is the strength I need for my soul.

His love for me is my only goal.
